An Event Planner in the Making
If you have been working with us for the past few weeks, you may have seen a new name in your inbox. Our newest support member, Alé Strauss, has joined the Portfire Events team as our Events Intern! We are elated that she has joined the team. We can’t wait for you to get to know her too! We absolutely love working with students who have a passion for the industry and are eager to learn more! As a student of fashion, Alé has a keen eye for trends and design which translates both to the runway and live events! Her love for design and events began at a young age. In high school, Alé was the head of the costume department for performing arts. She loved finding ways to make each costume unique to the character. There was constant change and crazy schedules, but she loved seeing her creativity and organization skills come together to create an experience that others enjoyed.
After high school, she took the amazing opportunity to live and work abroad for four years. While overseas she sharpened her business skills and developed a deeper love for travel and culture. Her adventurous spirit continued as she traveled with her friend through Spain, in a yellow Sprinter van, crossing off a bucket list item. When she returned to the United States, Alé enrolled at LIM College in New York City. She will be receiving her degree in Bachelor of Business Administration in Fashion Merchandising this year. While in her second semester at LIM, Alé took an introductory course in event planning and learned that event planning combined her love for creativity, planning, and business. As she entered her final year, Alé interned at a prominent event planning firm in NYC and continued to explore the event planning industry.
Alé has come to Portfire Events for her Senior Co-Op to learn about destination management companies, corporate events, and to further learn about event planning. We are excited to take Alé under our wing and help her discover all the nuances of this industry, while also introducing her to all the services we provide to our clients in the New England!
